Celtic have lodged a £5.2 million bid to sign Tunisian winger Sebastian Tounekti from Hammarby IF in a deal that could unlock Yang Hyun-jun’s move to Birmingham City.

Blues held discussions with Celtic over a deal for 23-year-old South Korea international over the weekend and Sky Sports claim a transfer worth an initial £3m is in the offing.

It has been claimed Yang has travelled down to Birmingham from Glasgow to ensure he is in position to complete his move once Celtic give him the green light.

Speaking over the weekend, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers admitted he would be reluctant to let Yang leave without a replacement being lined up.

Tounekti appears to be that replacement and Sky Sports in Scotland report that the Hoops are advancing in negotiations with Swedish side Hammarby
