SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man is accused of assaulting an employee and damaging the property of a business in Springfield on Wednesday, Aug. 27, after being fired.

Sage Grady, 32, is charged with first-degree assault or attempt and first-degree property damage, as well as misdemeanor second-degree property damage.

According to the probable cause statement, Grady was fired from his place of employment on Aug. 25 and has since messaged vague threats to employees and a manager. The name of the business was redacted in court records.

At about 1:25 p.m. on Aug. 27, Grady entered the shop and approached an employee, saying, "Stand up or you're gonna get stuck." When the employee stood up, Grady punched him in the head 15 to 20 times and tried to put him in a "sleeper hold" with an arm around his
