Steelers players voted for their 2025 captains Monday, and while there were no surprises, there was one notable new face.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was voted the team’s offensive captain, while defensive tackle Cam Heyward and linebacker T.J. Watt reprise their roles on defense. Safety Miles Killebrew was voted captain of special teams.
This will be the 15th time in his career Rodgers will be a team captain, as he was captain 12 of his 18 years in Green Bay and the last two years with the New York Jets.
Heyward was elected for the 11th consecutive year, and only Ben Roethlisberger has been voted a Steelers captain more, with the quarterback receiving the honor 13 times. Watt was also captain in 2020 and 2022-24.
