The 49ers received very good news on Monday.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who currently is seeking a new contract extension and has been sidelined for the majority of training camp and preseason with a calf injury, was on hand for the early portion of San Francisco's first practice of the week.

While there does not appear to have been much progress made on the contract front, Jennings' attendance at practice certainly is a good sign that he can and intends to play in the 49ers' 2025 NFL season opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field.

Jennings led all 49ers wide receivers in catches (77) and receiving yards (975) last season.
