SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and groups in the Ozarks are promoting local resources and education for those who need help.

Community Partnership of the Ozarks will be promoting suicide prevention education all month long and providing resources year-round to try and de-stigmatize the subject.

CPO partners with mental health organizations across the Ozarks to spread awareness about how Southwest Missouri is especially impacted by suicide compared to the rest of the nation. Chris Davis, CPO’s Vice President of Prevention and Youth Support, said citizens of Southwest Missouri might not realize that their area is above the national average.
