Eugene, Ore. — The Montana State football team suffered its most lopsided loss in 17 years, falling 59-13 in the season opener Saturday at Oregon .
It was hard for the No. 2-ranked Bobcats to find many positives from a game in which they trailed by 50-plus points for the first time since a 69-10 rout at Kansas State in 2008, but there were some silver linings. Taco Dowler set a couple of career highs . Myles Sansted made a couple of 42-yard field goals. New starting QB Justin Lamson and MSU’s defense had good moments. There just weren’t enough to hang with the defending Big Ten champion and No. 7 team in the FBS.
