CLEVELAND (WJW) - The FOX 8 I-Team has found a top Cleveland official will not get her job back, losing a furious fight after crashing with kids in a city car.

Former Assistant Safety Director Jakimah Dye won't be coming back to work.

Dye made headlines last year while getting fired after crashing a city car with four kids inside.

She fought for a year and a half to get her job back, but the Civil Service Commission has voted down an appeal.

The incident with the city car violated policy, and records show Dye didn't immediately reveal she had kids with her.

Records also show she had permission from her boss to transport kids. Karrie Howard resigned after being questioned by the I-Team.

At a hearing, Dye's lawyer argued she received more severe punishment than other city employees.
