Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze in Stoke-on-Trent this evening (September 1). Photos from the scene off Broom Street in Hanley show flames lighting up the night sky.

It is believed to be part of an old factory which is on fire but this is yet to be confirmed.

One StokeonTrentLive reader said: "There's an old building on fire in Hanley, close to the new restaurant." Another added: "It's near the Intercity taxi base. There's a lot of smoke."
