MT. VERNON, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities responded to a reported burglary attempt at the Mt. Vernon Gun and Sportsman Club on North Miller Lake Lane on August 31.

Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.

Officials said they later located the suspect's vehicle near Liberty Road and Shawnee Street.

A 17-year-old female was identified as the suspect. The sheriff's office said she was then arrested for burglary.

The teenager was processed and released to a guardian.
