CHICAGO (WTVO) — The mayor of Chicago has doubled down on his claim that the city will resist if the Trump administration sends in federal authorities.
“Yeah, and I don’t take orders from the federal government," Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said Saturday during a press conference.
Also on Saturday, Johnson, a Democrat, signed an executive order that bars all city departments—including the Chicago Police Department— from aiding federal authorities with immigration enforcement, traffic stops or other patrols.
