OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The rain did not stop the Labor Day parade in Downtown Omaha on Monday.

The cool, dreary day also did not stop the continuation of a tradition.

Near 16th and Cass Streets, Mark Petit is working. He’s always working on Labor Day.

But this year, he needed a tent to keep himself and his donuts dry.

Mark said there are two reasons why he’s out here hiding from the rain.

“To sell lots of donuts to a bunch of friendly customers and support the parade,” he said.

Mark has a grab-and-go set up outside of Petit’s Pastries. It’s taking some of the pressure off the bakery.

He said the line outside and inside are not as long this year, but business is still ok.
