Approximately 80 cyclists participated in the 26th annual Ride for the Refuge on Labor Day, aiming to raise funds to combat homelessness in East Erie.

Organized by the Erie United Methodist Alliance (EUMA), the event challenged participants to raise money for the Refuge Emergency Shelter, which supports families and children experiencing homelessness. The ride offered routes of 25k, 50k, and 100k, starting at Shades Beach and extending through east Erie County.

"EUMA is committed to moving families with children from homelessness into a permanent home of their own and providing the social services necessary to keep them permanently housed," said Kurt Crays, CEO of EUMA.
