TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Hundreds of Tucsonans gathered Monday at Reid Park for the city’s annual Labor Day Picnic. Families, friends and neighbors came together on Labor Day to give thanks to workers across America.

The annual picnic highlighted the importance of unions in Arizona and throughout the nation.

Frank Grijalva has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for nearly 40 years.

“The union itself has meant a lot because it’s the one that fights for our wages, our benefits, the dignity, and respect that we have to have a retirement when you finish working,” Grijalva said. “Without that, I mean, we work and work and work and without something to work towards, we have nothing at the end.”

Grijalva always enjoys representing at the Labor Day Picnic.
