DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) -- Grief is a journey we all must face, and one Durham woman has turned her pain into a mission.

After losing both of her parents, Rebecca Feinglos is donating a quarter of a million dollars to Duke University to help others overcome their own grief.

Feinglos remembers watching her mother, Susan, go through treatment after she was diagnosed with brain cancer more than three decades ago. It's a tragic time that always sticks with her.

"I don't remember getting grief support as a kid," Feinglos said. "I don't remember anyone really asking me 'how are you doing?'"

After losing her mother to Glioblastoma in 2002 and losing her father, Mark in 2020, Feinglos founded a platform called Grieve Leave. It’s designed to help people navigate the process of grief.
