FREMONT, Neb. —
A Fremont woman said she was denied over $2,500 in insurance claims after the July 29 explosion at the Horizon Biofuels Plant.
The blast at the plant last month killed a father and his two daughters.
After she said she suffered smoke inhalation and damage to her car in the blast, she filed a claim with Horizon Biofuel's insurance for the medical bills and missed work caused by the smoke inhalation. The insurance company told her they could not pay out her claim.
"They aren't covering anything," Leffler said. "There are so many insurance claims and so complicated that they don't know if or when I would ever see any reimbursement for this."
Leffler's friend has created a GoFundMe for her and her family for the costs of the car damage and medical bills.
