WATERBURY, Conn. — Next week, leaders in Waterbury are holding a public hearing ahead of their Board of Alderman meeting on whether they should ban hourly hotel and motel bookings.

The mayor and police chief have shared in the past they believe it's directly linked to crime, according to local newspapers like the Connecticut Post and the Connecticut Insider.

Just last month, Waterbury police said they arrested eight women for prostitution happening in the Willow Street and Hillside Avenue area. Their ages ranged from 27 to 54.
