MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man is dead after a Whitehaven shooting Friday night, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said.

Officers responded around 10:35 p.m. to an Airways Express in the 4900 block of Airways Boulevard, police said.

MPD said officers found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police reviewed security footage that showed the man with a suspect inside the store. The suspect wore a blue hoodie, white shirt and dark pants, MPD said.

According to police, the suspect left the store and went southbound on Airways. The man also left the store and went to his mother’s truck.

Police said multiple shots were fired at the truck as the man spoke with his mother. The man and the truck were struck, but two other people inside were not injured, according to MPD.
