MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), with help from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, is investigating an officer-involved shooting after a Madison County deputy fired shots at juveniles Saturday afternoon in Gibson County, striking one.
According to the TBI, the deputy began a pursuit around 4:45 p.m. in response to an earlier carjacking in the area of Beech Bluff Road. Three juveniles were in the car and fled into Gibson County, the TBI said.
The TBI said the situation escalated and the deputy fired shots, hitting one juvenile in the arm.
The injured juvenile and the deputy, who suffered a head injury, were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay, the TBI said.
