BELTON — Before determining the duration of a prison sentence for a 2014 murder, a district court judge last week heard testimony from the father of the 36-year-old victim and the father of the man who was convicted in July.
Sung Jin Farris, who also answered to “Junior,” died after being shot on April 30, 2014, outside of his apartment in the 300 block of Wolf Street in Killeen.
After a trial earlier this year, a jury on July 10, determined that 38-year-old Johnathan Shawn Allen Holmes was guilty of the murder of Farris. Holmes had elected for the judge, rather than a jury, to determine his sentence if found guilty.
