A barber shop in Gastonia has been burglarized three times since 2023, most recently in the early hours of Sept. 27.

Elio Chocobar, one of the owners of Elvis Beauty Salon on West Franklin Boulevard, said that he was woken by a phone call from police at 4 a.m., and the police officer said that there had been another break-in at his shop.

Speaking in Spanish in an interview interpreted by a reporter from Telemundo, Chocobar said that the impact on his business wasn't just the money that's been taken, but the damage to the shop, which is going to cost him around $4,000 to repair. He said that his shop is the way he feeds his family.
