BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
A Georgia family is heartbroken after their loved one was killed in an ATV crash. It happened in Cherokee County over the weekend. The crash killed two adults and seven children between the ages of 1 and 12 were hurt.
The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office identified Marcus Ragland and Ashley Hawkins as the two adults who died. The kids were taken to different hospitals for their injuries.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver said Marcus Ragland was speeding in an ATV at Indian Mountain Park in Piedmont on Saturday when he clipped another and drove off the road. He was thrown from the vehicle when it hit a tree and died on the spot.
