CEDAR FALLS, IA (KWWL) — The University of Northern Iowa is alive with the energy of a new semester as students flood back to campus. Some are just beginning their college journey, while others are picking up where they left off. For Nicole Hahn, it marks a return to a long-held dream.

Hahn initially enrolled for college in 2005 with the aim of becoming an elementary teacher. However, life led her elsewhere for two decades, including becoming a mother. After a recent injury at work, she decided to go back to school and complete her degree at UNI.
"So I knew I needed to figure out plan C at that point so I was very close to the bachelors so that's why I wanted to go back," Hahn said.
