Juan Soto isn't a stranger to "overrated" chants from opposing fan bases, but he always looks for ways to silence his haters.
He did just that Monday as the New York Mets rallied multiple times to beat the Detroit Tigers, and Soto didn't shy away from addressing the chants and the perception around him when speaking postgame.
"This is the month," Soto told Will Sammon of The Athletic . "I feel like whoever gets hot in September is the team that goes all the way."
His manager, Carlos Mendoza , was quick to speak on Soto's behalf as well.
"It's a show," Mendoza told Sammon postgame. "Every time he's at the plate, you want to watch it. It's pretty special, and I'm glad he's on our team."
