HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Firefighters responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning at 258 Capen Street in Hartford.
According to officials, the call came in around 4:20 a.m. for a fire in a small, vacant building located behind other residential properties.
Neighbors told Channel 3 crews that the structure appeared to be under renovation at the time of the fire.
There was a heavy presence of emergency crews, including multiple fire trucks, hoses across the road, and dozens of firefighters and paramedics staged near the corner of Capen and Enfield streets.
Firefighters initially struggled to gain access to the burning structure, according to Deputy Fire Chief.
Once they did, they were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 to 35 minutes.
