HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - State police responded to over 4,000 calls for service over Labor Day weekend.
From midnight on Friday, August 29th, to 11:59 p.m., on Monday, September 1st, state police responded to 4,288 calls for service.
Of those calls, 891 of them were traffic stops.
State police say there were 282 car crashes. 25 of them resulted in injuries. 1 person was seriously injured in an ATV crash in Stafford, 1 person was seriously injured in a dirt bike crash in Voluntown, and 1 person died in a car crash in Middlefield.
35 arrests were made for driving under the influence.
In 2024, troopers responded to 5,118 calls for service on state roadways and made 41 DUI arrests.
