A family of stray dogs from Far North Queensland, dubbed the "Furwins" due to their encounters with crocodiles, have been rescued and relocated to the Gold Coast .

The mother, named Terri, and her pups were initially spotted by locals while struggling to survive in the remote region.

Remote Animal Assistance (RAA) intervened to rescue the dogs, finding Terri in a critical condition.

Following emergency treatment, the dogs were transported to the Gold Coast, where Terri is now recovering in foster care.

"Stray dogs can find themselves in tricky situations but they are very good at adapting and overcoming," Animal Welfare League rehoming manager Mikaela Thrift said.
