(Seguin) — The Seguin City Council will hold public hearings on the proposed budget and tax rate for the coming fiscal year during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at Seguin City Hall. The new fiscal year begins October 1.
The council has already been working through the budget process. A recent workshop gave staff an opportunity to present their proposed fiscal year 2025-26 operating budget of just over $136 million. That’s about $12 million more than last year’s $124.7 million plan.
City Manager Steve Parker says the proposal reflects both new positions and additional investments in departments like police, fire and other city services. Even with those increases, Parker says staff worked hard to keep overall expenses in check.
Parker noted that Seguin’s rapid growth remains a key challe
