The Iowa Department of Transportation will close Interstates 80 and 35 overnight to begin the long-term closure of two more ramps as part of the interstate's reconstruction near Hickman Road.

Drivers will need to use detours during the interstate's closure and find alternative ramps for several months.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, until 4 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, weather permitting, crews will close northbound I-80/35 from the southwest mixmaster until the Iowa Highway 141 interchange, the DOT said.

During this time, crews will be installing temporary barriers and pavement markings for the ramp closures.
