Willamette Week’s Aug. 6 report exposed Candace Avalos, Jamie Dunphy, Mitch Green, Sameer Kanal, Tiffany Koyama Lane and Angelita Morillo discussing budget strategies in private, with Steve Novick as an “honorary member,” according to Avalos, potentially forming a quorum. This secret deliberation could violate Oregon’s Public Meetings Law and undermines the values of transparency and accountability required of our 12-member council.
