A new gastropub could open in Huntingdon town centre if plans are approved. Proposals have been put forward to turn an empty shop unit in St Benedicts Court into a new pub called The Ese Lounge.
Huntingdonshire District Council has already granted a licence for the new gastropub to sell alcohol. Under this licence the pub would be able to sell alcohol between 9am and 10.45pm from Monday to Thursday, between 9am and 1.45am on Friday and Saturday, and between 10am and 10.45pm on a Sunday.
The licence will also allow the pub to play live and recorded music and to show films. While a premises licence has been granted by the district council, planning permission is needed to convert the unit into a gastropub.
