CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- An investigation is underway after a man was shot by law enforcement, Carpentersville police said.

The shooting happened on Thursday at about 10:45 p.m. in the 100-block of Woodland Court, police said.

Police said officers responded to a 911 call.

A man, who was allegedly armed with a firearm, was shot by law enforcement officers, Carpentersville police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital; his condition was not released.

The Kane County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the shooting.
