BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Foley man who led police on a chase in a stolen car has been sentenced in federal court, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Jabari Maliek Stots, 28, was sentenced to eight years in prison for "illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon while leading sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle," a USDOJ news release said.

Court documents showed that on Nov. 19, 2024, Stots was driving a stolen vehicle in the Mills area of Foley when Baldwin County Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull him over.

Stots reportedly sped off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, running stop signs and stop lights in residential areas and barely missing several other cars.
