Across the London region, nearly 196,000 students – almost equivalent to the population of Richmond Hill – are returning to elementary and high schools and college and university. That means changes to all kinds of cycles, including morning and afternoon traffic on area roadways.

Kids heading back to class in the region’s two largest school systems, the Thames Valley District and London District Catholic school boards, catch a lucky break. School doesn’t begin for them until Wednesday, with Tuesday – technically the first day of the school year – a designated professional development day for staff in both boards.

At both Western University and Fanshawe College, orientation day for students is Tuesday and fall term classes begin Wednesday.
