The Rangers had an absolutely fantastic week to end August. Not only did it bring them to a .500 month— after an amazing July and lousy start to August, .500 for the month is a relief— it brought them above .500 again for the season.

Texas managed to take their momentum from their series win at home versus the Angels, with a absolute dominant finale, to Sacramento to sweep the Athletics for the first time on the road since 2015.

The Rangers are now just two and a half games back in the wild card race and five games back in the division.

While the Wild Card seems like the obvious road for Texas to make it to the playoffs, the division title isn’t exactly out of the realm of possibilities. Texas and Houston still have six games left against each other, three at each team’s home ballpark.
