MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Police in Mount Pleasant have confirmed that they are investigating the death of a woman who was thrown to the floor by another at an assisted living facility.
An incident report released on Tuesday morning states police responded to The Artisan at approximately 7 p.m. on Aug. 23 for an assault call.
The report states police found a resident of the facility’s memory care unit lying on the floor unconscious. Police said they learned the victim was walking with a second woman when the woman grabbed the front of the victim’s collar and “threw her to the ground causing her to lose consciousness.”
EMS took the woman to an area hospital but Sgt. Robert Blaschke confirmed the victim later died. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim
