Big changes are underway at the historic Homestead Resort in Midway, but amid the construction, one corner of the property will remain mostly the same.

The restaurant 1886 Grill, a poolside and golf-course-side dining spot, sits tucked between the eighth and ninth holes, and while its logo may be shifting slightly as part of a resort-wide rebrand, its casual spirit will continue.

Marketing Manager Mel Hampton said the space, once known as Fanny’s Grill, was long a casual hangout for golfers who wanted to grab a burger or hot dog after a round. And when the resort’s new ownership group stepped in during 2019, like most of the property, it was in need of a refresh, she said.
