LAKE WALES, Fla. (WFLA)— A Dundee man was arrested after fleeing from a traffic stop and injuring a police officer and his canine partner, the Lake Wales Police Department announced.

A Lake Wales police officer attempted to stop Marlon Arrindell, 36, for going more than 30 mph over the speed limit on Sunday, but Arrindell fled from the officer.

According to officers, Arrindell eventually stopped at a Chevron gas station, but when the officer attempted to arrest him, he started fighting.

The officer released his partner, K9 Bolo, to assist, but Arrindell managed to get back into his vehicle and drive off, dragging the officer and K9 Bolo.

Other officers quickly located Arrindell about a mile west on East Bay Boulevard, where he fled again on foot, LWPD said.
