TOWN OF SPRINGPORT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- 63-year-old Craig Gilmore, an employee at Union Springs Academy, was arrested and charged with two sex crimes against a child, Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenk said.

Gilmore was arrested on Friday, Aug. 29, and was employed by Union Springs Academy as of that day, Sheriff Schenk told NewsChannel 9.

The victim was not a student at Union Springs Academy, the sheriff's office confirmed.

We have reached out to the school district for comment, but have yet to hear back.

On Aug. 29, Cayuga County deputies responded to an address in the Town of Springport after a week-long investigation into a report of sex abuse of a minor child. It was reported that Gilmore had subjected a child under the age of 11 to sexual contact.
