ALLEN PARK — The Detroit Lions chose not to keep rookie undrafted wide receiver Jackson Meeks on their 53-man roster through the final wave of roster cuts before the season.

Already facing an uphill battle with a stacked Lions receiver room, Meeks still excelled during preseason and training camp, finishing second in the NFL in receiving yards with 176 across preseason game.

He landed a spot on the Lions’ practice squad, meaning the active roster is still within his reach and the Detroit coaching staff holds a lot of faith in Meeks’ potential as a pro.
