SAGINAW, MI — Police are investigating a shooting at a gathering on Saginaw’s East Side that left two men wounded and three more jailed.
About 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, Michigan State Police troopers responded to reports of gunfire at a large get-together in the area of Potter Street and North Roosevelt Austin Boulevard (Second Street). Two local men, ages 18 and 21, suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Troopers spotted a vehicle leaving the scene and initiated a traffic stop on Third Street near Potter, said MSP Lt. Kim Vetter. The civilian vehicle briefly stopped and troopers could see it contained three occupants, Vetter said.
