The Bears announced their team captain for the 2025 regular season over social media on Tuesday.
The team captains announced will be quarterback Caleb Williams, left guard Joe Thuney, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, free safety Kevin Byard, and kicker Cairo Santos. This selection process leaves Chicago with two captains on offense, two captains on defense, and one captain on special teams.
Of those players chosen, four of them have been in the NFL for more than ten years. Williams is the only exception, having been in the league for two seasons now. Given the vast experience and success of the veterans selected, it’s hardly surprising they went with established locker room leaders as captains, even if Thuney and Jarrett are new to the organization.
