JEFFERSON, Ga. — The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a written bomb threat at East Jackson High School on Tuesday.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 2, school officials alerted students and staff of the possible threat. Students and staff members were evacuated to the stadium for their safety. All after-school activities were canceled as law enforcement swept the area.

K9 teams were deployed throughout the entire school to search.

At around 4:11 p.m., the sheriff's office issued an all-clear after K9 teams and bomb dog teams swept the area.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is working with the school district to continue investigating this threat.
