The LSU Tigers didn’t just climb in the national polls after Saturday’s 17-10 victory at Clemson, they made a huge leap to their highest rankings under coach Brian Kelly.

LSU moved up to No. 3 in The Associated Press top 25 and No. 4 in the USA Today coaches’ poll. It’s the highest rankings for the Tigers since they finished the 2019 season at No. 1.

LSU’s previous high under Kelly was No. 5 late in the 2022 season and in the 2023 preseason rankings.

The Tigers were behind Ohio State and Penn State in the AP poll with 1,514 points and three first-place votes. Penn State had 1,558 points and No. 4 Georgia had 1,410 points.

In the coaches’ poll, LSU had one first-place vote and 1,459 points. Ohio State, Penn State and Georgia were ranked ahead of LSU, the latter with 1,518 points. No.
