CHICKASAW, Ala. (WKRG) — The current Chickasaw mayor is out and a new mayor will be named after the mayoral runoff election.

According to the city clerk's office, Mayor Barry Broadhead will no longer hold his seat.

The two candidates in the mayoral runoff are Tyran Colvin and Bill Vallon.

On election night, Broadhead reportedly received 25.74 percent of the votes and Vallon received 25.62 percent in unofficial results.

After the city council confirmed the votes on Sept. 2, it was determined that Vallon had received more votes, putting him above Broadhead.

The runoff election is scheduled for Sept. 23.
