Mosquitoes trapped in Corunna Aug. 27 tested positive for West Nile virus, says Lambton Public Health.
As part of its seasonal surveillance program, the local public health agency places mosquito traps at locations around Lambton County for regular testing.

The virus is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.
This is the first time this season mosquitoes have tested positive for the virus in Lambton, the agency said in a news release.
No human cases of the virus have been confirmed so far this year in Lambton, it said.
Public Health Ontario has reported 21 human cases across the province so far in 2025.
Lambton had one confirmed case in 2024 and seven since 2017.
