CARROLLTON (KMZU) — Five people died in traffic crashes and one person drowned during the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Labor Day counting period this year.

Statewide, the highway patrol investigated 222 crashes resulting in 104 injures, 100 DWIs and 14 in addition to the deaths.

On the water there were three crashes, four injuries and nine BWIs along with the drowning. The counting period lasted from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Monday.
