WOODFIN - The construction timeline for the greenway along the French Broad River in Woodfin now stretches through summer 2029, Buncombe County officials said, meaning residents likely won't be able to walk the greenway that will connect to Asheville's River Arts District until the end of the decade. The project was originally set to begin construction in 2025.

Alongside the much-anticipated Taylor's Wave project , the Woodfin Greenway and Blueway plan includes building new greenways along the French Broad River to connect with the River Arts District.
