The Ontario government has announced $12.9 million in funding to prepare 50,000 people in Waterloo Region for “good-paying jobs” in high-demand sectors.

Premier Doug Ford, who visited AirBoss Rubber Solutions in Kitchener to announce the investment, he said will help people find roles in construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, education and health innovation.

The investment is part of the province’s Skills Development Fund (SDF) Training Stream, which was recently increased to $2.5 billion to support workers facing economic uncertainty as a result of U.S. tariffs.
