BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- A new fundraiser was launched to raise money for new marching band uniforms for high schools in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
The pricetag for new uniforms ranges from $35,000 to $45,000, school officials said. The Band Together EBR campaign aims to get uniforms for band programs that have decades-old uniforms or no uniforms.
“Band Together EBR is about opening doors,” Superintendent LaMont Cole said. “Our band programs give students the chance to perform in parades and competitions not just in Baton Rouge but across the state and the nation. With proper uniforms, our students can proudly represent our schools and community on every stage they step onto.”
