Well, that’s a pathetic end to an international embarrassment.

The Smith government “paused” its entire book ban policy Tuesday, in an email to school boards across the province.

But a new one is coming soon.

“The direction will be to take books with pornographic images out of the libraries and to leave the classics alone,” said Premier Danielle Smith.

Smith claimed again the school boards were “purposely misunderstanding” the government’s policy.

Several times she threw this back on the boards, implying that they aren’t complying with the ban on explicit pornographic material.

That’s unfair, if not completely untrue. The boards quickly removed any explicit sexual depictions that slipped in with the flood of graphic novels.
